Valentine’s Day…

Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.

1 Peter 4:8

A day of love..A day to show those around you how much they mean to you.. sometimes it’s easy and sometimes well… it’s not. 🙂 I read something today that Carrie Underwood had posted on IG and she said the reason why she didn’t really like Valentine’s Day. I was intrigued so I kept reading. It was short and to the point. She said “Anyone who knows me knows that Valentine’s Day is my least favorite holiday. I can’t put my finger on exactly why that is but it may be because I want my true love to love me “extra special” for 365 days out of the year ..not just on the one day that he’s “supposed” to.”

This really got me thinking and although I love Valentine’s Day, sappy movies, romance and all the things..I thought she is onto something here. I need to be better at loving 365 days a year and not just one special day a year. Do little special things throughout the week to let him know I was thinking about him or my kids or whomever is special in your life.

That leads me to my next thought and it will be probably be the thing that I work on until I die and it’s what and how do you love people/someone that you really don’t like? Man this is a hard one. For me, I need to continually remind myself that Jesus came for us all and he came and loves each of us unconditionally. Sometimes I can’t really wrap my head around this..why would he love me and why would he continually pursue me?

One thing I know is that Christ’s love is pure and it is genuine and he loves unconditionally. He loves 365 days a year, he loves us at our best and he loves us at our worst. So let my prayer today be “Lord enable me to love like you do, 365 days a year, to those around me that may be easy to love and some harder to love in my eyes. Give me your eyes and your heart. Help me to love well”…

My your Valentine’s Day and the other 364 days of the year be filled with lots of chocolate, love, special moments and most of all the love of Christ!

Be blessed friends xoxo

May the Lord direct your hearts into God’s love and Christ’s perseverance.

2 Thessalonians 3:5

Jeremiah..

As I read this morning chapter 1 in Jeremiah…this is what I learned about him.

Jerm 1:4-5

4-Now the word of the Lord came to me saying, 5- “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”

*He was a prophet for a worldwide ministry.

*Jeremiah was called by God specifically.  His ministry was 2 fold-destructive and constructive.  God’s word is accompanied with power so that Jeremiah would accomplish these objectives.

*God never makes a mistake in choosing his servants.  He empowers all he calls and provides the encouragement and help they need.

*With God Jeremiah is invincible.

*The secret of spiritual victory in Jeremiah’s life is that Jeremiah is assured success on the condition of his faith in God.

The last thing I learned today is Jeremiah knew his calling and his calling was specific.  Although he faced many challenges and opposition he was a butt kicker!  He was called to speak the truth of the Lord and many people turned against him. Although I’m sure it was hard at times but he knew that God was with him and he knew his calling and he went out and did it.

What is your calling?  As we are all on this path to hear and see God move~ I challenge you to press in and listen to that still small voice inside that is speaking to each of our hearts and ask God to show you what your calling is and then go and kick booty!!!
